Nodaway Valley Bank, in partnership with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines (FHLB), helped facilitate a $100,000 grant for the Savannah swimming pool renovation project through the FHLB’s Member Impact Fund, which provides matching funds to support local projects for housing, business and economic needs.
The FHLB of Des Moines is one of 11 regional banks that make up the FHLB System. Members include community banks like Nodaway Valley Bank. Federal Home Loan Banks are wholly- owned by their members and receive no taxpayer funding.
Serving 13 states and three U.S. Pacific territories, the FHLB of Des Moines works with 1,200 member financial institutions like Nodaway Valley Bank to support affordable housing, economic development and community improvement.
“The Member Impact Fund is designed to help our members champion organizations that make a real difference in their communities,” said Kris Williams, president and CEO of the FHLB of Des Moines. “By partnering with our members we’re able to multiply resources and support their vital work.”
In Missouri, 956 applications received funds through partnerships with 174 member institutions, like Nodaway Valley Bank, matching $3 for every $1 contributed by the member institution. The Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri serves as the 501c3 umbrella organization to receive contributions to the Andrew County Aquatics Initiative.
