For the third year in a row, the Kansas City Business Journal has ranked Nodaway Valley Bank among the area’s Top Five Strongest Banks with assets of $500 million to $2 billion. NVB finished 2025 as the No. 1 bank on the list based on zero reported problem loans within its $1 billion loan portfolio. The bank’s 11.74% core capital ratio was the highest of the top five banks.
NVB’s also enjoyed a 1.70% C-Corp. adjusted Return on Assets (ROA) in 2025, compared to its peer group average of 1.16%, reflecting a high level of operating efficiency.
Nodaway Valley Bank entered the Kansas City market in 2020 by opening two full-service banks in Platte City and Smithville, followed by a Loan Production Office in Liberty. Construction is nearing completion on a new 4,000 square foot facility on the southeast corner of Hwy. 169 and Commercial Street in Smithville, scheduled to open in June.
